So you will soon be off to Jaipur and are now searching the internet so as to pick the best hotel for you. Perfect – that’s the same thing I do too! Chances are your search has thrown up a wide range of options before you within your filtered budget. Though having a wide range of options help but therein lays the dilemma as well – Now how do you filter the ‘Best’ out of them that is most suited for you?
While making your hotel bookings in Jaipur or for that matter any other city, reviews help but that’s certainly not enough. What you need to do is club these reviews with your REQUIREMENTS.
Consider these questions for example;
Am I travelling alone or with family?
Am I travelling for work related purposes or
for the purpose of exploring the city of Jaipur?
for the purpose of exploring the city of Jaipur?
Do I prefer a centrally located hotel close to the railway station or
one that is closer to the Airport? etc.
one that is closer to the Airport? etc.
The answers that you get in return to these sorts of questions should play a major role in the decisions you make. Like say, if you are travelling with family for sightseeing purposes, you might want to consider a hotel that is more centrally located rather than choosing something that is tucked off beat.
Based on my regular visits to the pink city over the years for a variety of different reasons, I am listing 5 'best-fit' hotels in Jaipur below that I have scouted and handpicked to stay accordingly:
1. Krishna Palace Guest House Managed by Vinod Koolwal.
This is our favorite place to go whenever we are travelling as a family. Run by a family who has converted their heritage haveli into a homestay, Krishna Palace is located very close to the Jaipur railway station and yet escapes the humdrum by tucking itself in an alley off the main road. The homestay exudes an air of tranquility the moment you walk in. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but what I really like about this hotel is their family room (priced at Rs. 2000 + taxes) which is very spacious and comfortable. They offer free pick up from 8 in the morning.
Requirement? Family Room.

2. Galaxy Hotel.
Hotel Galaxy is a wonderful budget friendly hotel in Jaipur with clean spacious rooms located very close to the railway station. The rooms and bathrooms are decent and fairly clean; I would highly recommend it if you are on a business trip or require a room for resting purposes. This is our ‘The-hotel-to-book’ whenever we arrive in Jaipur early morning by train from Mumbai and require a room only for freshening purposes before moving beyond the city. In short, room for half a day.
For such rooms they slash their prices to half, so a standard room will cost you Rs. 500 and if you go for higher rooms, they offer free pick up as well.
Requirement? Transit stay; most ideal if you need a place to hold up only for half a day or so.

3. Maya Niwas.
Hotel Maya Niwas is located in a little lane on the Hathroi road just off the main street. It’s a beautiful boutique heritage hotel close to the center yet away from the touristy chaos. The rooms are spacious, clean and the entire vibe really makes for a wonderful experience. If it fits your budget, I would recommend it for a comfortable convenient stay with family.
Requirement? Peaceful stay.

4. Kalyan Hotel Managed by Manoj Gupta and His wife.
Address: Hathroi Fort, Ajmer Road, Near Police Station, Gopalbari, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302001.
Located adjacent to the Maya Niwas hotel is Kalyan Hotel which looks very basic but is a great steal if you are looking for a budget guest house for two with a warm friendly staff and atmosphere. The double rooms, priced at Rs. 900, are clean and comfortable; and well suited for couples and solo travelers alike. They also have their property listed on AirBnb which makes it pretty authentic as well.
Requirement? When on a business related trip or looking for a good accommodation on a tight budget.

5. Arya Niwas.
Address: Behind Amber Towers, Sansar Chandra Road, Jaipur – 302001.
Arya Niwas is an up-scale and classy hotel behind Amber towers located 2 km from the railway station. It’s extremely foreigner friendly so you can expect a lot of foreigners hanging around in the lobby area. You can also expect high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in their rooms and restaurant area. And if you need to get some work done - there’s Wifi 24 hours a day!
Requirement? Hygiene, Wifi.

ReplyDeleteWell, Jaipur surely has great hotels and you have been able to list some of the great picks. However, I would like to talk about a new trend which has been catching up in India. When I visited Jaipur recently, I had stayed with Zostel, Jaipur. It is a hostel for bag-packers and I really had fun staying there. If anybody is travelling with friends, this would be a perfect accommodation option.
ReplyDeleteYou can read about my experience in Jaipur here. Let me know any feedback. Cheers!!
